Fitness Racing Calendar - GYMRACE
What is GYMRACE?
GYMRACE is an indoor functional fitness race that combines gym-based strength and conditioning stations with 1km running intervals. Exercises include sled pushes, wall balls, kettlebell swings, rowing, skiing, and biking.
Average completion time is around 1 hour 20 minutes with no mandatory cut-off. Categories include Solo, Buddy (pairs sharing the workload), and Relay. Competitors are divided into weight classes from entry-level through HEAVY competition divisions, with prizes awarded in HEAVY categories.
Organised by Mud Masters (est. 2012), GYMRACE events take place across Europe including London.
The race format is as follows:
1km run
50m sled push (200kg men's heavy, 150kg men/women's heavy, 100kg women)
100 wall balls (9kg men's heavy, 6kg men/women's heavy, 4kg women)
1km run
100m slam ball carry (50kg men's heavy, 35kg men/women's heavy, 20kg women)
1000m row
1km run
100 kettlebell swings to overhead (24kg men's heavy, 16kg men/women's heavy, 12kg women)
1000m ski-erg
1km run
100m dumbbell farmers lunges (2 x 15kg men's heavy, 10kg men/women's heavy, 5kg women)
2000m bike erg
1km run
50m burpee broad jump
50m sprint
